‘The 63’ – Club Notes 18/07/23

The-63-v2

The senior men got back to winning ways with a good win (1-10 to 0-8) over Dungloe last Saturday in very difficult conditions. Having trailed by three points at half time, Termon secured an eighth win of the Division 2 campaign with a solid second half performance and a superb contribution of 1-4 from Enda McCormick. Despite taking worrying knock to the ankle, McCormick bounced back with a match winning goal four minutes from time after a brilliant turn over by Caolan Gallagher. Termon scorers – Enda McCormick 1-4, Daire McDaid 0-3, Jack Alcorn 0-1  Anthony Grant 0-1, Steve McElwaine 0-1.
Team – Darragh Russell; Conor Cassidy, Jamie Grant, Caolan Gallagher; Aaron Reid, Sean O’Donnell, Cian McMenamin; Jack Alcorn, Kevin McGettigan;
Ricky Gallagher, Bobby McGettigan, Enda McCormick;
Anthony Grant, Daire McDaid, Oisin Harkin. Subs used – Steve McElwaine, Emmett McGettigan, Gary McGettigan, Patrick Fegan.

The Termon reserve senior men are 11 games unbeaten after another victory on Saturday. Hugh Harkin’s chargers were 2-10 to 1-7 winners over Dungloe. Paul Mallons and Evan Coleman scored the goals. They had already secured a league final place last week and still have Naomh Mhuire to play before the final. The Termon reserve men are one of just two clubs in the entire league, senior and reserve, to have won all their matches.

The senior men thirds won on the road at Naomh Ultan on Friday. Charles Gallagher, Mark Gallagher and Declan Sweeney score the goals in the 3-12 to 0-5 win.

The senior ladies have a league final against Naomh Conaill to look forward to having overcome Aodh Rua at the semi  final stage 0-12 to 1-7. Jodie McFadden top scored with 0-8 with Maeve Brady hitting 0-2 while Roisin Friel and Niamh Bonner also got on the scoresheet.

Following the club championship draws, the ladies know their opposition for the upcoming group stages. The senior ladies have been grouped with Moville, St.Eunan’s and Buncrana while junior ladies will play Kilcar, Aodh Rua and MacCumhaills.

Hard luck to the our county senior ladies, Emer, Nicole, Ciara, Geraldine and Jodie who unfortunately lost out to Dublin at the quarter final stage in Ballybofey.
