With the championship in full swing it was an exceptional few days with all four of the club’s senior sides taking victory in their respective games.
The senior men, reserves and third’s maintained their winning championship form where Sunday’s triple header at the Burn Road seen all sides score with wins.
The club would like to thank Seamie Friel for his tremendous work, the pitch was in immaculate condition for three bumper games.
The reserves were first up against Bundoran and remain unbeaten, not just in the championship but for the entire season. Hugh Harkin’s men had too much for the visitors winning 4-17 to 1-3. Paul Mallon top scored with 1-7,
Eoin Doherty, Emmett McGettigan and JR McDaid scored the other goals.
The senior’s would also have success over Bundoran, making it three wins from three for Caolan McDaid’s side in Group A of the Intermediate Championship. Daire McDaid top scored with 1-4 in the 2-11 to 0-11 victory. Ryan McFadden stepped up with 1-1, Jamie Grant hit 0-2 while Cian McMenamin, Ricky Gallagher, Jack Alcorn and James McSharry also scored 0-1 each. Nathan McElwaine made his first start since his return to the club. Championship Sunday was rounded off as the third’s ran out convincing winners over Malin to make it back to back wins. Owen Browne, Mark Gallagher and Ben Harkin scored the goals.
The weekend started with the senior ladies laying down a marker for the men. They also had a convincing win in Inishowen on Friday night beating Buncrana, to make it two wins on the trot.
The season has come to an end for the Termon minor men. Unfortunately they were on the wrong end of the result in Maghergallon, losing to Gaoth Dobhair 1-10 to 1-4 at the quarter final stage of the Division 1 minor championship.
Despite the defeat, a brilliant effort all through the season by the group of players and management.
