Last Saturday proved to be a successful day for our senior mens teams in championship action, with all three sides taking victories. The senior men made it two wins from two Intermediate games with a superb performance against Downings in one of the stand out games of the weekend in the county. Caolan McDaid’s side controlled the game from the earlier stages to win 2-8(14) to 1-3(6). Daire McDaid scored 2-2 while Cian McMenamin, Anthony Grant, Ricky Gallagher, Bobby McGettigan, and captain Steve McElwaine also got on the scoresheet. The back six were impressive throughtout, limiting the visitors to just one point from play. Next up is Bundoran at home on Sunday, 3pm throw in.
The senior reserves carried their unbeaten league form into championship on Saturday, beating Downings 3-18 to 2-3 in the first game at the Burn Road. Oisin Harkin top scored with 0-6 and the goals came from Mark Gallagher, Paul Mallons and JR McDaid.
The first win of Championship Saturday came from the senior c side who went to Glenfin and won 1-11 to 0-7. Mark Gallagher hit the back of the net and there were good performances from Sean McNulty and Owen Browne.
It was a mixed day for the Termon ladies teams in championship action on Sunday. The senior’s began their campaign with a 2-9 to 0-5 victory at the O’Donnell Park over St. Eunans. Niamh Bonner and Ciara McGarvey scored the goals while Jodie McFadden and Nicole McLaughlin were also on the scoresheet in what was a good all round performance.
Unfortunately the junior ladies suffered defeat losing to Aodh Rua in Ballyshannon.
Hard luck to our U15 boys side who lost in the Divison Two Shield Final last Friday, unfortunately going down to Aodh Rua but a great effort from the group.
