‘The 63’ Club Notes 17/06/24

The-63-v2

Senior

Sunday’s fixtures in the All County League didn’t go the way of the senior men’s teams against Dungloe at Rosses Park. Having been five points up at the break the senior’s ended on the wrong side of the result, losing by four points to the hosts.

In the opening game, the reserve men drew their tie with Oran Gallagher scoring the Termon goal.

The thirds also drew their Division Four fixture with MacCumhaills last Friday in Ballybofey, Aaron Gallagher and James Doherty bagging the goals.

Ladies Board

Senior ladies continued their winning ways on Sunday morning, with a trip to Fanad. In wet and miserable conditions, the Burn Road ladies came away with a comfortable win. A good shift was put in by all the team,  especially the younger girls such as Niamh Bonner, Cayla McFadden and Kate McCafferty.

The minor girls begin their campaign next few weeks, fixtures will be posted on the social media pages.

The U14 girls continue their season with a home game on Saturday morning at 11am at the Burn Road against Naomh Muire.

All our underage girls teams are out training and new members are always welcome, contact any club member or the Facebook page for details.

Congratulations to Kate O Gara, who will represent the club at the school’s county skills competition this week in Convoy.

Minor Board

The U12 boys had a fantastic day at the GO Games Activities Day in Croke Park recently. A brilliant experience for the 24 boys & coaches and one that will live in the memories for a long time to come. A huge thanks to the coaches and club for organising and to our generous sponsors who helped make the day run smoothly.

Our U10 boys travelled to Ardara to take part in the very well run Joe Larry memorial tournament. A great day was had by all with lots of skills on show. Many thanks to the coaches and parents for travelling. The boys also wish to thank DPPS Contacts & Danske construction for their recent sponsorship.

Our U9 & U11 boys headed to St John’s GAA club in Sligo last weekend to take part in their annual summer blitz where they played teams from Donegal, Sligo, Mayo and Galway. Another great day of fantastic football which started off being involved in the parade and ended with a stop off in Supermacs on the way home. The boys were presented with a beautiful commemorative frame to mark the occasion. Thanks to coaches for organising and the many parents that helped along the way.
