Commiserations to the Donegal senior ladies who came so close to taking an Ulster title on Sunday. It was a fantastic effort. Hard luck to the Termon contingent of Shannon McLaughlin, Evelyn McGinley, Jodie McFadden, Orla Corey and Jenny McGettigan. Best of luck in the upcoming All Ireland series.

Donegal v Tyrone Tickets

Tickets for Donegal’s first All Ireland Championship game against Tyrone will be distributed to club members on Thursday evening. Keep an eye on the clubs socials for more updates in the coming days. 

Men

The Thirds were on the only men’s side in action last weekend. In their first league game of the year they lost to neighbours Glenswilly 2.08 to 2.07.  Adam McElwaine and Joe O’Donnell scored the goals. Mark Gallagher, Daniel O Donnell and Sean McNulty also  scored the points while veterans Joe O Donnell and Johnny McCafferty made an impact off the bench and Owen Browne also played well.

Ladies

The club’s senior ladies group are continuing their preparations for the upcoming All Ireland Gaeltacht Finals in Cork on the June Bank Holiday weekend. The girls are putting a lot of work in and are thankful to the community for their continued support. If any business would like to support the team, contact any of the ladies team or ladies board.

Congratulations to Jodie McFadden who was this week named as an ATU Donegal Sports Scholar in Ladies Gaelic Football.

Gaelic for Mothers & Others continues on  Friday evenings at the pitch from 7 – 8pm. All ladies over 25, more than welcome to come along and join in the craic. No previous football experience necessary as it’s a non competitive experience. Any queries contact Declan on 0862029851.

Healthy Club Programme

As part of the club’s healthy clubs initiative, the women and men of the community can get involved in walking groups. The track around the pitch is the perfect place to go for a walk, safely and away from traffic and the busy roads. Call down any evening Monday – Friday at around 6.15pm, where Madeline, Eileen and friends will have a warm welcome for anyone wishing to have a walk and talk. Contact the healthy clubs officer or Madeline on 087 771 6511for further details.

The men’s group is headed up by Bernard (Benny) Gallagher and they meet up every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 8pm at the old school in Termon. Anyone interested in joining in, contact Benny on 087 694 9165 for further details. All men in the community are welcome along.

Minor Board

Our minor lads had a fantastic win over Cloughaneely cementing their unbeaten Division 1 league run.

Well done to our U12b boys who showed fantastic skills in their match versus Cloughaneely on Friday.

The  U12 boys have been lucky enough to be invited to Croke Park on June 3rd, Bank Holiday Monday to take part in Go Games Activity Day. A fundraiser is scheduled this Saturday from 10-6pm in Kellys Centra, Mountain Top. The players, coaches and parents are completing a virtual cycle to Croke Park. Please call in and support in anyway you can, from words of encouragement or a few coins in the collection buckets. All support welcome in what promises to be an exciting fundraiser to help send the group on a big day out at Croker.

Lotto Results 19/5/2024 – No’s drawn were 8, 10, 14  27. There was no winner of the €1900 Jackpot.  There were two Match 3 winners of   €40 each – Caolan McDaid and Francis McFadden.
